TAP Air Portugal has announced the launch of two new direct routes connecting Lisbon to Los Angeles and Porto to Boston, set to begin in 2025. This expansion aims to enhance TAP’s transatlantic offerings and cater to the growing demand for travel between Europe and the United States.
Lisbon to Los Angeles Route Details
The new Lisbon to Los Angeles route will commence on May 16, 2025. The flights will operate on the following schedule:
- Days of Operation: Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays until May 26, 2025.
- Additional Frequency: A fourth weekly flight on Saturdays will be added starting May 27, 2025, continuing until October 25, 2025.
Flight Schedule:
- Departure from Lisbon: 09:55 AM
- Arrival in Los Angeles: 02:40 PM
- Flight Duration: 12 hours and 45 minutes
Return Flight:
- Departure from Los Angeles: 04:40 PM
- Arrival in Lisbon: 12:00 PM (next day)
- Flight Duration: 11 hours and 20 minutes
The route will be serviced by Airbus A330-900 aircraft, accommodating 298 passengers. Round-trip fares start at €679.
Porto to Boston Route Details
The Porto to Boston route is set to begin on May 14, 2025, with flights scheduled as follows:
- Days of Operation: Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays until October 25, 2025.
Flight Schedule:
- Departure from Porto: 06:05 PM
- Arrival in Boston: 08:30 PM
- Flight Duration: 7 hours and 25 minutes
Return Flight:
- Departure from Boston: 11:00 PM
- Arrival in Porto: 10:35 AM (next day)
- Flight Duration: 6 hours and 35 minutes
This route will utilize the modern Airbus A321-Long Range, which has a capacity of 168 passengers. Round-trip fares start at €529.
Additional Route Enhancements
In addition to the new routes, TAP Air Portugal will also introduce a weekly flight from Lisbon to San Francisco, which will make a stop in Terceira, Azores, starting June 3, 2025. This new offering aims to provide a direct connection between the Azores and California, catering to the significant Azorean community in the region.
