Portugal Finishes Unbeaten in First Stage of 2025 World Cup Qualifiers

Published on

Portugal has successfully completed the first stage of the qualification for the Jogador 2025 World Cup, finishing unbeaten in Group C. The team showcased a dominant performance against Germany, winning 7-3, with standout contributions from Jordan Santos and Miguel Pintado.

In a thrilling encounter, Portugal faced Germany and emerged victorious with a score of 7-3. The match was marked by an explosive start from the Portuguese side, particularly from Jordan Santos, who opened the scoring early on.

The first goal came from Santos, setting the tone for the match. Just ten minutes in, a well-coordinated play involving Rui Coimbra and Bê Martins led to Léo Martins doubling the lead.

Before halftime, Miguel Pintado added another goal, finishing a move that began with a remarkable save from the Portuguese goalkeeper.

Germany attempted to mount a comeback, scoring their second goal from a penalty taken by Jonas Schulte. However, Portugal’s Miguel Pintado quickly restored the five-goal cushion, scoring his second of the match.

In the closing moments, an unfortunate own goal by Jordan Santos brought the final score to 7-3, but it did not overshadow Portugal’s impressive performance.

With this victory, Portugal has secured its place in the next phase of the qualification process. The team will now prepare for the playoff round scheduled for October 9, where they will face an opponent yet to be determined. The confidence gained from this match will be crucial as they aim for a spot in the 2025 World Cup.
