This exciting event is expected to attract over 1,000 participants and more than 500 visitors each weekend, all coming to enjoy the beautiful island of Porto Santo while engaging in competitive padel matches.
The Porto Santo World Padel Cup is a significant sporting event that showcases the growing popularity of padel, a racquet sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. The tournament will be held on four outdoor courts at the Vila Baleira Resort, which is an official partner of the event. Matches will take place from Thursday to Saturday, with various entertainment activities planned throughout the event.
Since its inception in 2022, the World Padel Cup has experienced remarkable growth, with participation increasing by 412% in Porto Santo alone. This year’s event is just one of many planned for the island, which will also host competitions in futsal, veterans’ football, chess, and golf through November.
