Severe Weather Alerts Issued for Six Districts Due to Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms

Severe weather warnings have been issued for six districts in mainland Portugal due to forecasts of heavy rain and thunderstorms. The alerts, which are classified as yellow warnings, are expected to affect daily activities and pose risks to safety.

The following districts are currently under yellow warning are Portalegre, Castelo Branco, Beja, Santarém, Faro and Évora.

These areas are expected to experience significant rainfall, which may lead to localized flooding and disruptions.Understanding Yellow Warnings

The yellow warning is the least severe on a three-tier scale used by the IPMA. It indicates a situation that poses a risk to certain activities that depend on weather conditions. Residents are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions.
