Government Inaugurates New Todos os Santos Hospital in Lisbon

The Portuguese government has officially inaugurated the construction of the new Todos os Santos Hospital in Lisbon, a significant development aimed at enhancing healthcare services in the region. This state-of-the-art facility, located in Marvila, is set to replace six existing hospitals and is expected to be operational by 2027.

The Todos os Santos Hospital is a landmark project for the Portuguese healthcare system, designed to consolidate various healthcare services currently spread across multiple facilities in Lisbon. The new hospital will replace the São José Local Health Unit, which includes hospitals such as São José, Santo António dos Capuchos, and others.

During the inauguration, Health Minister Ana Paula Martins emphasized the hospital’s importance, stating that it represents a “remarkable achievement” for patients. She highlighted that the facility will not only enhance healthcare delivery but also serve as an anchor hospital for the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the New University of Lisbon.
