In a groundbreaking move for Portugal, The Other Bottle has opened its doors in Lisbon, offering a unique selection of non-alcoholic beverages. This innovative store, located in the PrÃncipe Real neighborhood, aims to promote a mindful drinking culture, allowing patrons to enjoy flavorful drinks without the effects of alcohol.
The Other Bottle, which opened on October 12, 2024, is the brainchild of Jeremias Loock, a German entrepreneur who recognized a gap in the market for quality non-alcoholic options. Previously an online-only business since 2021, the store now provides a physical space for customers to explore and enjoy a variety of drinks.
The store features a wide range of beverages, including beers, wines, spirits and a selection of tonics, konbucga and naturally flavored aperitifs.
Prices range from €5 to €80, catering to different budgets and preferences. The wines are expected to be particularly popular, with several brands already making a mark in the market.
The Other Bottle is not just a retail space; it also serves as a community hub for education and tasting events. The store features a large central table where customers can sample products, and it aims to collaborate with renowned chefs and sommeliers to create non-alcoholic pairings for fine dining.
Currently operating as a pop-up store, The Other Bottle is set to move to a larger location in January 2025, just in time for Drynuary, a global initiative encouraging a month without alcohol. This expansion will allow for a broader selection of products and more space for events and tastings.
As the demand for non-alcoholic beverages continues to rise, The Other Bottle is poised to become a key player in Portugal’s evolving drinking culture, offering a refreshing alternative for those looking to enjoy social occasions without the effects of alcohol, and we love it!
