The traveling exhibition “Past, Present, and Future of the Order of Saint Augustine in Portugal” will open on August 3rd at 11:30 am at the Pousada do Antigo Convento da Graça in Tavira and will be available until August 29th. Supported by the Municipality of Tavira and the Pousada do Convento da Graça, this exhibition celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Order’s return to Portugal.

Divided into three sections – Past, Present, and Future – the exhibition showcases the history and significant contributions of the Order of Saint Augustine since 1244. The “Past” section highlights notable figures, historical documents, and religious works.

The “Present” focuses on the Order’s restoration efforts since 1959, emphasizing the pivotal year of 1974 when the Order took over the church of São Vicente in Guarda. The “Future” section underscores the importance of laypeople, families, and youth, featuring the Portuguese Augustinian Youth and secular fraternities, reflecting the Order’s ongoing vitality.
