Sir Rod Stewart, the iconic British singer-songwriter, has announced that he will conclude his large-scale world tours next year as he approaches his 80th birthday. While he plans to retire from extensive touring, he has no intentions of stepping away from performing altogether, hinting at a shift towards more intimate venues in the future.
Stewart confirmed his final major tour dates for Europe and North America in 2025, marking a significant milestone in his illustrious career. He expressed his love for performing and emphasized that he remains in good health, stating, “I’m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79.”
In an Instagram, Stewart remarked, “This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire. I love what I do, and I do what I love.” He also teased the possibility of a new tour focused on his Great American Songbook and Swing Fever album, which he released earlier this year in collaboration with Jools Holland.
His final appearance in Europe will be at the MEO Arena in Lisbon on May 13, 2025. In addition to his touring plans, Stewart will headline a new residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas from March until June 2025. This residency will allow fans to experience his music in a more intimate setting, aligning with his desire to shift away from large-scale performances.
