Eurovision Song Contest 2025 to Take Place in Basel

The 69th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Basel, Switzerland, in 2025. The announcement came after a competitive selection process between Basel and Geneva. The semifinals are scheduled for May 13 and 15, with the grand final on May 17.

Basel Versus Geneva

The decision to host the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel was announced on August 30, 2024. Basel was chosen over Geneva after a thorough selection process. This will be the first time Basel hosts the event, adding to its rich history as a cultural and commercial hub.

St. Jakobshalle, a multi-purpose indoor arena, will be the venue for the event. Known for hosting various events, including sports competitions and concerts, the arena can accommodate up to 12,400 spectators. It has previously hosted international music stars like Madonna, Queen, and Rihanna.
