Portugal is set to make a significant impact at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid, showcasing 120 companies and seven tourism regions. This year’s event will take place from January 22 to 26, 2025, and marks the largest representation of Portugal at FITUR to date, occupying 1,700 square meters of exhibition space.
Portugal’s participation will feature two stands in one of the IFEMA pavilions, where the first days are dedicated to industry professionals. The weekend will open up to the general public, transforming the stands into vibrant spaces for presentations and tastings of regional products.
This year, FITUR anticipates an increase in participation, with 9,500 companies from 156 countries and 884 exhibitors, marking a 10% growth from the previous year. The event is expected to generate significant economic activity, reinforcing Madrid’s status as a key player in the global tourism industry.
Portugal’s diverse offerings at FITUR aim to attract not only industry professionals but also tourists looking for unique experiences. The emphasis on cultural and artistic elements reflects a broader trend in tourism that values immersive and authentic experiences.
As the tourism sector continues to recover and evolve post-pandemic, events like FITUR play a crucial role in connecting businesses, promoting destinations, and fostering international collaboration. Portugal’s robust presence at this year’s fair underscores its commitment to revitalizing its tourism industry and showcasing its rich cultural heritage to a global audience.
