Unicorn Factory Lisboa has officially opened its third hub, named “Greenhub,” dedicated to sustainability and mobility. Launched on October 29, this new space aims to foster a community of startups, investors, and universities, with an initial cohort of 16 startups already on board.
The director of Unicorn Factory Lisboa, Gil Azevedo, emphasized the importance of creating a collaborative environment that brings together various stakeholders in the fields of sustainability and mobility. By aggregating these participants, the hub aims to scale projects more effectively and attract larger initiatives.
The Greenhub currently hosts 16 startups, with six operating on-site and ten working remotely. This diverse mix is designed to enhance collaboration and innovation within the community. Azevedo noted that the hub is supported by a robust network of national and international partners, which will provide essential resources and guidance to the startups.
The establishment of the Greenhub is expected to have a significant economic impact, with 110 jobs created so far. The hub’s occupancy is projected to increase to full capacity by early 2025, further contributing to job creation and economic growth in the region. Azevedo stated that the goal is to accelerate the growth of these startups, enabling them to attract more investment and create additional employment opportunities.
