The Red Bull Flugtag event is set to take place this Saturday at the Doca da Marinha in Lisbon. This international event challenges participants to design and build flying machines, launching them from a six-meter-high platform above the water. Among the competitors is the team “Pétalas Voadoras” from Alvarães, representing their local heritage with a unique flying creation.

The “Pétalas Voadoras” team, consisting of five members from the 2024 Alvarães Festival Committee, will participate with a design inspired by a 16th-century caravela. Event Details
The Red Bull Flugtag event will feature 34 teams, each presenting their flying machines. The teams will be judged based on three criteria:
- Creativity: The originality and inventiveness of the design.
- Performance: The showmanship and entertainment value during the launch.
- Distance: The distance the flying machine covers after launch.

Due to the event, there will be significant traffic disruptions in the area. The following bus routes will be affected:
- 728, 735, 759, and 794: These routes will experience disruptions between Campo das Cebolas and Estação de Sta. Apolónia.
