Cristiano Ronaldo Reflects on Portugal Future: ‘When the Time Comes, I’ll Move On’

Cristiano Ronaldo, the legendary Portuguese forward, has opened up about his future with the national team, stating that he will retire when he feels he is no longer contributing. Despite facing criticism for his performance at Euro 2024, Ronaldo remains committed to representing Portugal in upcoming competitions.

Ronaldo’s Commitment to Portugal

Cristiano Ronaldo has made it clear that he has no immediate plans to retire from international football. Speaking at a press conference, Ronaldo stated, “When the time comes, I’ll move on. It won’t be a difficult decision to make. If I feel like I’m no longer contributing anything, I’ll be the first to leave.” The 39-year-old forward holds the national records for both appearances (212) and goals (130) for Portugal.

Portugal is set to face Croatia and Scotland in their UEFA Nations League campaign. Ronaldo was called up to the squad by coach Roberto Martinez for these matches. “The motivation is to come to the national team to win the Nations League. We’ve already won it once, and we want to do it again,” Ronaldo said.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s commitment to Portugal remains strong, and he is determined to continue playing until he feels he can no longer contribute. His focus is on short-term goals, and he remains motivated to achieve more success with the national team.
