Starting October 15, 2024, Portuguese passport holders will be able to enter China without a visa for up to 15 days. The announcement was made by Lin Jian, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a press conference. The extension of the visa exemption to Portugal had been a long-standing request from Portuguese business leaders, aiming to facilitate easier travel for business and tourism.
