Scotland Nations League Matches Exclusively on YouTube: A New Era for Fans

Scotland fans will have to adapt to a new way of watching their national team as upcoming Nations League matches against Croatia and Portugal will only be available on YouTube. This shift comes after Norwegian broadcaster Viaplay decided to scale back its UK football operations, leaving fans with limited options for viewing competitive matches.

The decision to stream the matches on YouTube marks a significant change in how fans can access Scotland’s games. Viaplay, which previously held the rights to all of Scotland’s competitive matches, has opted not to sell these rights to another broadcaster for the current fixtures. Instead, fans will need to tune in to the ViaPlay YouTube channel to catch the action.

The last time a Scotland match was not available on traditional television was during a friendly against Poland in 2014. This new arrangement raises questions about the future of broadcasting for Scotland’s matches, as Viaplay has not confirmed whether future games will be subcontracted to other broadcasters.
