Published on

Alessandra Leão, a celebrated Brazilian artist, launched her European tour in Lisbon, Portugal, on October 1st, 2024. This marked her third performance in the country, a place she holds dear. Leão’s show, titled “Solo,” promises a rich blend of traditional Brazilian rhythms and contemporary sounds, showcasing her unique musical style.

Alessandra, 45, expressed her fondness for Portugal, stating, “I had planned to go to France, but I enjoyed Portugal so much that I decided to perform in Lisbon first.” Her previous performances in Portugal were in 2008 and last year, further solidifying her connection to the country.

In her performance, Leão will present a variety of traditional Brazilian music styles, including cirandas and candomblé, alongside her original works. She emphasizes that while the show is titled “Solo,” she will incorporate the voices of other artists, creating a dialogue through music.

Among the featured artists are Odete de Pilar, Ana do Coco, Mestre Galo Preto, and Bill Roque. Additionally, she will be joined on stage by musicians from a band called Alyon, which includes members from Argentina, Brazil, Italy, and Greece. Leão met these musicians during a show in São Paulo last year and invited them to join her in Portugal.
